They'll call me anti-business, an "Occupy" kind of guy, someone who needs to get a job. OK. Well, I have a job, a decent one, and one that I'm grateful to have. I believe in businesses thriving, but I don't believe in CEOs and executives making obscene amounts of money for doing the same work that their front-line staff do. And as for "Occupy"... I mean, where is that now?<br /><br />Don't get me wrong. I like the green coffee shop that can also be termed "balls of burning gases in the universe" + "slang for dollars"... or, as this blog calls them, "*bucks". Having looked around for good coffee in Vancouver (at a reasonable price), I find I can't beat them for taste. <b>The problem is</b>, I cannot seem to find any coffee shops that believe in decent, consumer friendly pricing. Having worked at *bucks", I can tell you that the price you pay for a cup of coffee is quite inflated. But the thing is, that's not criminal. *bucks can charge you whatever they wish, and it's the consumer saying, "OK, we'll pay that price" that doesn't cause them to lower their prices.<br /><br />This blog is for the average person that just cannot justify paying around $5.00 for a large cup of what is admittedly an essential drug for most of the modern, Western workforce. My goal here is not to bring *bucks down; like I said, they make really nice espresso-based drinks... their coffee, on the other hand, is awful... when I worked there and people asked me, "What do you recommend for coffee?", I said, "Tim Hortons".<br /><br />I digress... the point here is to post, and encourage others to share, their (legitimate) tricks and ideas for getting *bucks quality drinks at the average Joe's prices. Not trying to cause controversy, but the fact is, we don't need to be spending as much as we do for our java fix.<br /><br />Stay tuned for my next post...
